Overhead establishing shot – what does this achieve?
Overhead shot lets us know that there are more characters in the room.
What is Shot-Reverse-Shot?
Meaning when a shot is cutting back between the two characters, assuming that they are looking at and talking to each over.
What is Eye-line matching?
For example one person in a meeting is standing up, looking of screen and down, whiles a person sitting down is looking of screen and up. From the angles of their eyes means that they are looking at each over.
Why cut to the other members of the group?
When a character is talking about a plan in a group, it would make sense to take different shots of the other people in the group one at a time to see their reaction of their faces while their listening and looking at each over.
What is a wipe?
The wipe is a slick transition and it is used to move a scene to another location in time.
What is the effect of using quick cuts?
The effect of using quick cuts to make things short and sweet. From the beginning of shooting, the editor may have more than fifteen shots, some of them are long or too short and it creates a fast time which will the a story going along very well and keeping the audience on their toes.
